The Festival of Happiness

Organised by the Marketing Agencies Action Group (MAAG), the Festival of Happiness is a one-day event taking place on 15 May during Mental Health Awareness Week. The purpose of the festival is to empower, inspire, educate and support individuals and independent marketing agencies on the subject of mental health and wellbeing.

And why is it happening?

Quite simply, more than a quarter of all agencies believe mental health is now a bigger issue for their employees than physical illness, while research from Bupa reveals that mental wellbeing has become a boardroom priority for 63% of businesses.

Together MAAG and Fill Recruitment are aiming to shine a light on the pressures on young marketers as part of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week. We are committed to raising awareness, changing people's perception and arming organisations with the tools to support their staff.

What can I expect at the Festival of Happiness?

The festival will be split between three amazing spaces at The Collective in Fitzrovia, London WC1.

  • The Terrace will host a Mental Health First Aid course run by Mental Health First Aid instructor and wellbeing speaker Emma Saccomani
  • The Boardroom’s line-up will explore how CEOs can adapt to the needs of their workforce, with guest speaker Petra Velzeboer, a mental health consultant who will lead a conversation on the changing world of work
  • There will be a talent-focused session run by the Bipolar Businessman on the benefits of hiring someone with mental health issues and exploring the simple things that help organisations better manage staff mental wellbeing without a big budget
  • The Den will offer a jam-packed day of laughing yoga and meditation and inspirational and informative talks from expert partners and sponsors including CALM, NABS, The Mix, Miss Nutritionist, The Drum, The Naked Professor, F45 Training and Oystercatchers. Michelle Morgan, Co-founder of youth-led network Livity, will also be telling her story.
