Senior Account Director - Specialist Fundraising Agency – London - To £65k
We have just picked up an extremely rare opportunity to join London’s standout specialist charity agency at Senior Account Director level.
Experience of working on charity / fundraising accounts is essential for the role and you can have either an agency OR client side background.
So, if you are experienced in charity marketing on the client side and fancy a switch to the agency world this is an opportunity not to be missed.
The role also offers you the chance to be a big cog in a close-knit organisation with bags of opportunity and room to grow.
The agency
The agency is a full-service, predominantly direct marketing, fundraising agency who only work with not-for-profit clients. They enjoy the challenge of encouraging people to give and making them feel special when they do.
The agency’s approach comes from a deep understanding of donor needs, backed by 25 years of experience. They conduct research, analyse data, devise strategies, find solutions and deliver brilliant creative ideas.
Purpose
This is a proactive leadership position, where you will be responsible for driving effective and efficient servicing of a number of blue-chip charity accounts, building business and increasing profitability for both client and agency. You will likely deputise for the Client Services Director from time to time.
You
You have a passion for working with charities. You may already be in a senior role within a fundraising team at a charity – for example, heading up the Individual Giving team or as Fundraising Director. Or you are well versed on the agency side, managing some charity clients at either Account Director or Senior Account Director level.
You enjoy a proactive leadership position, managing and nurturing your team to deliver excellent servicing of designated projects / client accounts.
You won’t be afraid to get your hands dirty either as everyone, no matter their level, is hands on at this agency, managing a number of DM projects simultaneously. So, you’ll need to be organised and have a keen eye for detail. You thrive on teamwork and identifying areas of growth across your client base.
You also enjoy working on inspiring strategic and creative campaigns and you are at your best being a bigger cog in a smaller, close-knit organisation. You won’t be fazed by statistics or data and you can work within budgets and hit deadlines.
Finally, you’ll be a great and persuasive communicator – in writing and face to face. Sometimes you’ll need to be tenacious, sometimes diplomatic, but always professional and approachable.
The Role
As Senior Account Director you will head up a team comprising an Account Director and Senior Account Manager. Most of the agency’s work is through the direct market channel and specifically direct mail – the remainder being digital, so strong experience of direct marketing is essential.
Experience & skills required
- Senior agency and / or senior charity experience (eg Account Director / Head of Individual Giving / Fundraising Director)
- Solid managerial / supervisory experience
- A passion for the charity sector
- Confident face-to-face presentation skills
- Ability to identify and secure more business
- A talent for inspiring your team
- Written and numerical accuracy
- Excellent attention to detail
- Impressive all-round communication skills
Salary & benefits
You’ll receive a competitive salary (c £60-65k); a great work / life balance, regular social events, your birthday off, agency closure over the Christmas period and, most importantly, being part of a caring culture – you’ll get to work with some wonderful, inspiring and friendly people.
This is an incredibly rare Senior Account Director role at a great boutique charity specialist agency. Agency or client-side experienced candidates with solid charity and direct marketing experience please send us your CV today.
