This agency needs no introduction. It has consistently been one of London’s best advertising agencies since its launch 20 years ago.

Now it is looking for a Senior Account Director with solid direct marketing / CRM experience to work in its Customer Engagement team on a maternity cover contract starting late November / early December.

The agency

Despite its reputation for advertising, the agency is properly integrated. Its work transcends the marketing mix with everything from social media and launch campaigns to DM and web build.

With a truly unique culture, the agency seeks people who will make a positive contribution to its mandate of challenging not following.

The Senior Account Director role

You will work on the agency’s largest retained, customer engagement client (approx. £1m annual revenue). It’s a global piece of business across 33 different markets.

The team comprises three account handlers and two project managers. The agency is currently developing a new strategy for 2023 focused on creating more personalised experiences which will transform how the client builds its customer relationships.

This will materialise via a new ‘club’ that will use creativity and access to new data sources. Deliverables will be heavily email-focused with lots of opportunities to work across other 121 channels.

The successful candidate needs to have a balance of skills, especially across data and marketing technology. You don't necessarily need to be a Salesforce expert, but you do need to know how to orchestrate the type of change the agency is looking to implement.

You will be the lead strategic adviser for the client and the ‘go to’ person in helping them with their business issues.

Reporting directly into a Business Director, you will share responsibility for managing the account.

Skills required

  • Solid CRM / direct marketing skills with good data understanding
  • Ability to develop proactive and responsive strategic proposals which drive demonstrable value for your client
  • Ability to identify and develop relationships with key budget holding clients across their business at senior levels, seeking opportunities and developing plans for business growth
  • Develop and nurture relationships with senior people in partner agencies

Salary and benefits

The salary is up to £70k depending on experience and comes with a host of hard and soft benefits.
